Biggest Transfers Summer 2017
Another Summer Transfer window, another round of absurd spending by teams across Europe. We’ll highlight some of the biggest summer signings that could have a huge impact on the 2017-18 season and let you know which teams made the best deals.
Paris Saint-Germain
With the two biggest financial deals of the summer Neymar Jr and Kylian Mbappe will have to produce plenty of goals this year to show their worth. Additionally PSG added a veteran defender in Dani Alves to sure up the back line. This could be the strongest PSG squad we’ve ever seen and seem like frontrunners for Champions League final spot.
Manchester United
With new striker Romelu Lukaku leading the attack and Zlatan Ibrahamivic re-signing a 1-year deal. Manchester United look poised to resolve the goal scoring woes from just a year ago. And with the addition of Nemanja Matic in the midfield to solidify the Red Devils’ defense presence, Mourinho’s men look a force to be reckon with this year.
Manchester City
Pep Guardiola has fortified City’s defense with the additions of Kyle Walker, Benjamin Mendy and goalkeeper Ederson will hopefully make everyone forget about Claudio Bravo’s prior performances. Bernardo Silva seems like a bonus given City’s plethora of options in the attacking third, but this could be a case of bringing in a younger Silva, before showing the older David Silva, the exit door.
Chelsea
Chelsea fans may have been shocked with the release of Nemanja Matic but it looks like Conte is focused on strengthening his attacking options with the addition of Alvaro Morata. Although, with Diego Costa’s future seemingly up in the air will Morata be enough to deliver the points the Blues will need this season?
Arsenal
Manager Arsene Wenger is in. And with the addition of Alexander Lacazette and a rearrangement of defensive repositioning, the Gunners are looking to rebound after a disappointing 2016-17 campaign. Some fans claim Arsenal haven't done enough to change the landscape of their current squad, let’s see if Wenger can sort out his squad in time to salvage the season and his reputation.
What new signing do you think will have the biggest impact on their new club in the 2017-18 season?
